The car accident attorneys of The Bruning Law Firm understand that an education is often the foundation of a successful and productive career. In addition, we are also aware of the fact that many students and families struggle to meet the ever-rising costs associated with obtaining a college degree. As a result, we are pleased to announce that we will be offering a $500 college scholarship to the winner of our annual essay contest. Details regarding the essay and the application procedures are detailed below.
The Essay Contest
In order to be eligible to participate in the contest, applicants must be planning on attending an accredited United States college or university in 2016. The contest is open to both current college students as well as those planning on starting college next fall. In order to apply, applicants must submit a 500-word essay answering the following question by 12/01/2016:
What law or laws would you create to make the roads safer?
Completed essay should be submitted as an attachment to bruningscholarship@gmail.com.
Along with the essay, applicants should provide the following information:
- Their name, address, date of birth, and phone number
- An email address for his or her parents, if the applicant is under 18
- The name of the institution that the applicant will be attending
- The course of study that the applicant will be pursuing
Once received, the essays will be evaluated by members of our staff and the winner will be notified on or around 12/15/15.
The essays will be judged using the following criteria:
- The substance and originality of the response
- The applicant’s demonstrated potential for success in their chosen field of study
- The quality of the writing, and
- Responsiveness to the question posed
